Al Delaney was born in Halifax but while still a toddler the family moved to Shelburne, Nova Scotia where he was raised and where, at an early age, he developed his passion for photography.
He left Shelburne to join the air force where he served both in Canada and overseas.
On leaving the service he moved to PEI with his wife, a PEI native, and worked with the PEI Justice Department until his retirement in 2001 when he was able to return to Shelburne.
Retirement has enabled Al to continue and develop his photographic endeavours and also allows him time to be an active participant in Shelburne and area life.
For creative control, he uses three most important elements; light, shadow and time of day - the result is unique and authentic images.
